Assessment of all components of Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers can lead in many cases to simple modifications to restore the installation partially or completely to the “as-built“ condition.

The results and recommendations of the assessment program will be reported and presented directly to the end-user. All root causes of poor performance, malfunctioning and failures of Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers will be examined and clarified.

Problems such as temperature reverse, fouling, poor static fan efficiency, fan stalling, broken fan blades, as well as many others will be analyzed. The conclusions will lead us to proposals for solutions within the customer's budgetary limitations.

The components of the cooler to inspect are:

  • bundles (headers, tubes, fins , air seals, tube keepers, ... )
  • fans
  • mechanicals (transmission gears, motors)
  • controls (louvers, actuators, steam coil, auto-variable hub)

 

In order to evaluate the efficiency of upgrades, it is important to have a performance baseline before executing any changes on the installation.

The performance baseline will be determined by airflow and temperature readings at the intake and outlet side of the bundles.

This baseline is the essential reference for any further enhancement of projects of improvement to your installation.
